April 5, 1759 Virginia Act Colonial Currency, Ten Shillings, Backed, PCGS graded Very Good-10.
Fr. VA-28. The very type of Virginia Currency George Washington may have used in 1759 during the French & Indian War. This Virginia currency note is Uniface, the engraved and typeset front side has a nice solid appearance with good detail and clear signatures of Philip Johnson and Benjamin Waller. The holder states design redrawn, pieces replaced, backed, yet it appears undergraded. Some edge chips were skillfully conserved since its original appearance in 2005 at Ford. Printed by William Hunter, measuring 85mm x 65mm. The blank reverse side has been backed with laid period paper and cosigned multiple times as typical.
