This choice tan Embossed Leather Wallet remains soft and subtle to the touch, its original leather strap is fully intact and the wallet itself is complete. The outstanding feature are four large decorative Naval theme embossed leather areas two on the outer leather and two others protected inside. There is an additional light blue cloth stitched divider in one interior pocket. This wallet was located with a single 75 Cents December 21, 1861-dated, The Lynchburg Savings Bank, of Lynchburg, Virginia held within, being fully signed, in worn Very Good condition. This may be a speculative indication of ownership by a Confederate Sailor or Naval Officer. The embossing are nice and clear with only light wear to the outer surfaces.
