This beautiful Map of Biblical Israel has a large Cartouche at upper left with a vignette depicting Jesus Christ blessing and healing the sick and infirm people as described in the Bible. A second vignette at lower right shows what appears to be an Ancient Judaea Coin, plus a scribe with his assistant at his side shown likely preparing a Map.

Hand-Colored this Map of Israel basically depicts the Twelve Tribes of Israel during Biblical times. Engraved and profusely illustrated, it includes: “De 12 zonen van Jakob waren; Ruben, Simeon, Levi, Juda, Dan, Naftali, Gad, Aser, Issachar, Zebulon, Jozef en Benjamin” measuring 16.5" x 20” ornately showing what amounts to present day Israel, Jordan and Lebanon. The map is professionally archivally floated under Plexiglas housed in its highly ornate decorative gold gilt wooden frame to an overall size of 28” x 31” double-matted with rich wine-color velvet, with a second inner decorative gold gilt wooden trim.
