ADAM HUBLEY (1741-1793). Patriot Commander of the 10th Pennsylvania regiment in the American Revolutionary War, with George Washington at Camp Valley Forge, whom he had an extensive Wartime correspondence, his Wartime journal for 1779 is quite famous; an original Member of the Pennsylvania Assembly in 1783, and original Member of the Pennsylvania Society of the Cincinnati.

This crisp note has a nice centering that is perfect on the reverse trimmed a hair at top of the face. It is rich with boldly printed text and the large bold red signature “Adm Hubley,” along with two others written in brown adds to its significant eye appeal. Besides the intrinsic value of this note, “Adam Hubley” is listed in the current Sanders Autograph price guide as a Revolutionary War figure. Its sharp corners and edges make this crisp clean note a near Gem.
Colonel Adam Hubley took a very active part in the War of the American Revolution. Hubley was commissioned as First Lieutenant in the 1st Pa. Battalion, Oct. 27, 1775; promoted to Major of one of the additional regiments in 1776; then Lieutenant Colonel, 10th Pa. Reg't, March 12, 1777, ranking from Oct. 4, 1776; Lieut. Colonel Commandant 11th Pa. Reg't June 5, 1779 to rank from Feb'y 13, 1779; retired Jan'y 1, 1781.

He was Appointed one of the auctioneers of Philadelphia, and died there of yellow fever in 1793. He was a Member of the Pennsylvania Assembly in 1783, and one of the Original Members of the Society of the Cincinnati from Pennsylvania.
