HELEN KELLER (1880-1968). Author, lecturer, disabilities rights activist and more, who at 19 months old who famously lost her sight and hearing. Her struggles as a child to learn the English language, reading and writing with her teacher and life long partner Anne Sullivan has been the inspiration for her biography, autobiography and of course the film.
January 21, 1939-Dated, three page Typed Letter Signed and Dated, “Helen Keller” sent to Katherine Cornell, the famous noted actress of the time, Choice Near Mint. This letter recounts a personal visit paid by Keller to Cornell's New York home in vivid, moving detail, and serves as an intimate and rare example of Keller's lived experience and perspective on the world. The three Typed pages measure 10.5" x 7.25", this letter Signed using her stencil signature that was accomplished personally by Keller. Here, thanking Katherine Cornell for their afternoon together at that time when Cornell was still considered one of the greatest actresses of the American theater. Actress Katherine Cornell, 25 years later, narrated the 1954 Academy Award Documentary titled, "Helen Keller in Her Story".

While Helen Keller’s letter is replete with stirring passages, a particular standout from the first page reads, in part: "There are sweet long memory echoes yet vibrating in my soul from the visit with you last Friday. You are all I have imagined and more... For to me you incarnate the American dream to fulfil (sic) the aspirations and longings of humble folk -- to give them a key to culture, so that they may unlock the treasuries of art, and those aglow with the Divine Fire may more freely approach the Muses to kindle beacons of self-expression."
