March 1st, 1770, Maryland Colonial Currency, Half Dollar, Annapolis, Choice Very Fine.
Fr. MD-53. This denomination is listed as “RARE” in Friedberg without a value, just a dash. A very well centered note with nice outer margins, printed on heavy laid period paper in rich black, fully signed in bold brown ink by Robert Couden and John Clapham. A clean note with a typical folds, the reverse somewhat worn and soiled. Printed by A.C. and W. Green, with “Tis DEATH to Counterfeit.”
