Lot 83:
August 8th, 1778 North Carolina Ten Dollars “Persecution the Ruin of Empires” Motto Superb Crisp Uncirculated
August 8th, 1778, North Carolina Colonial Currency, Ten Dollars, “Persecution the Ruin of Empires” Motto, Superb Crisp Uncirculated. Fr. NC-177b. This is a gorgeous fresh clean crisp North Carolina note of the Revolutionary War period. It has excellent centering both face and back, provided by four full margins on both sides. The black typeset text is sharply printed by James Davis, and has impressive eye appeal provided by its bold red serial number and the colorful signatures of Joseph Armitage and Jesse Cobb. The margin edges and corner tips are sharp as if originally cut from the original sheet. This cataloger rarely uses the grade “Superb.” This Ten Dollars note is likely not improvable. |
