JOHN FITZGERALD KENNEDY a.k.a. "JFK" (May 29, 1917 - November 22, 1963). 35th President of the United States, served as both a U.S. House Representative (1947-1953) and Senator (1953-1960) from Massachusetts, elected President of the United States from 1961 until his Death by Assassination in Dallas, Texas in November of 1963.
A vivd sharp contrast glossy Black & White Photograph Signed, “Best - John Kennedy”, in black ball-point pen as President, Framed, Choice Extremely Fine. This handsome signed Photograph measures 8” x 9.75” (by sight), housed in a modern custom matted and black wood frame to fully 14.5” x 16.25”, and displayed under “TRU VUE Museum Glass.” The impressive photograph shows President Kennedy at a speaker’s podium giving his speech. Although now framed, we know it to be stamped on the back of the photograph, “Newsweek Photo by Tony Rollo” with a pencil notation that it was taken September 25, 1961 during JFK’s speech to the United Nations. The glossy photo has two creases at the bottom left corner, far away and not affecting signature, “Best - John Kennedy” which is sharply written in blue ball-point below the image. A brass plaque is attached to the black painted wood frame reading: “JOHN F. KENNEDY”. Provenance: Said to have been from the George Foble collection of Timonium, Maryland, who passed away in 2019 at age 92 and served in the U.S. Marine Corps, to the current consignor.
President Kennedy's address before the General Assembly of the United Nations 25 September 1961 in New York City. In his speech the President addresses the recent death of U.N. Secretary-General Dag Hammarskjold, presents six proposals for the new Disarmament Program, and provides information on the current crises in Laos, South Vietnam, and Berlin, Germany.

Tony Rollo was a staff photographer for Newsweek during the 1960s and 70s, and his work extended well beyond the Kennedys. A media producer who shares his name notes that the photojournalist Tony Rollo was quite famous, published in Time, Newsweek, Life, and other magazines in the 60s and 70s, and has since passed away.

The most significant repository of his Kennedy work is at the John F. Kennedy Presidential Library in Boston. The Newsweek Magazine Photograph Collection consists of black and white photographs depicting President Kennedy's career, life, and family from 1960 to 1963.

Topics include events surrounding the 1960 presidential campaign, activities at Hyannis Port, Massachusetts, the Presidential Inauguration, speeches and meetings during the Presidency, and JFK's funeral ceremonies. Tony Rollo is one of the photographers represented in the collection, alongside Jim Mahan, Vytas Valaitis, Phil MacMullan, and Al Giese.
