1870-Dated Card with an authentic Black Bordered Mourning Card display of Pressed Flowers with handwritten caption: “From Lincolns House, Springfield, ILL. 1870”, Very Fine.
An original heavy Black Bordered Mourning Card, one page, measuring about 5” x 8” with a number of dried leaves with their stems carefully sewn for support within the card with handwritten text below reading; “From Lincoln’s House, Springfield, ILL. 1870.”

There is expected tone in the card from the leaves and a supporting outer sheet of light blue lined wove period paper as protection to the card held within. A rare memorial item is that the paper has the embossed vignette scene of the US Capitol building with “CONGRESS” above seen on the outer protective panel. A rare contemporary relic created and preserved to this date as a fond memory of the beloved assassinated President Abraham Lincoln created and cherished by a sincere admirer.
