Friedberg states: “All Issues From VA-1 to VA-61 Are VERY RARE or EXTREMELY RARE.” This important high denomination Three Pounds note has a tiny issue of only 1,700 with all to be redeemed back to the Treasury by October 20th, 1769. Its net holder comments, repaired (some old stamp hinges on the upper left of the blank reverse). Low Serial No. 391. Boldly Signed by Peyton Randolph and Ro(bert) C(arter) Nicholas. Printer uncertain. Uniface, measuring 77mm x 62mm. Nicely printed paper with barely strong imprints, tight borders all around, the blank reverse with several typical signatures. The Finest Certified of only three Fr. VA-47 notes, the other two are graded VG-10, as compared to this current pleasing Choice Fine-15.
