This nice well printed Volume is within a modern Hard-bound Brown Cloth with Gilt Title and contains the proceedings of the Massachusetts House of Representatives. It measures about 15” x 9” and includes 246 pages in the first part, and an additional 85 pages in the second, totaling over 330 pages. Printed by Thomas and John Fleet of Boston, New England. Internally, the pages are sound with light to moderate tone and have untrimmed edges with only a few pages somewhat deteriorated yet are archivally reinforced.

These proceedings were during the middle of the Revolutionary War period and were during some of the most critical and desperate days. There are extensive original contemporary historic interesting entries. On Page 31, we read of Charles White’s petition requesting compensation for his horse that was stolen by the British while forwarding an Express from Concord to Charlestown on April 19, 1775 (Battle of Lexington and Concord)! On Page 143, we see the first mention of the “Articles of Confederation.” Page 145 mentions George Washington, who had written that: ”... there was a number of Troops of this State now in Camp...”, apparently referring to Camp Valley Forge. Many other timely entries include mentions of Burgoyne and British Prisoners, more discussions of the Articles of Confederation and a wealth of other timely interesting information.
