This major design type made in cast-brass which nicely displays a Patriotic American “Rattlesnake” with its Tail in Mouth, encircling 13-Stars (representing the 13 Colonies), the thirteen raised Six-pointed Stars encircled by a Rattlesnake holding it's tail surrounding a stippled field. This button can be found in Don Troiani’s reference book “Insignia of Independence” on page 259, illustrated as AUS.i. A strong straight shank is rare being still fully intact, even in color and undamaged having excellent eye appeal.
