Original Revolutionary War Soldier’s Pewter “USA” Button

c. 1776, American Revolutionary War Continental Army Soldier’s Pewter “USA” Button, Small Size, with its Full Original Shank, and Full USA Displayed, Used, Fine.
This fully detailed yet worn with rough surfaces “USA” Continental Army Soldier’s button measures about 3/4 inch in diameter and was said to have been found in the Charleston, South Carolina area. The rims are intact and the central “USA” design is well centered and clearly defined. The reverse has its full original nearly straight shank as shown. Overall a better than average example for display of this popular historically important “USA” button design.
