c. 1775 Revolutionary War Era, American Canteen made of Wooden Staves with four Iron Bands with a 1/2” metal spout top center (no plug) complete with its original period leather strap intact being attached with metal loops on two outer Iron Bands, Fine.

This 18th century canteen is very rare having its original leather strap still fully intact, attached with loops on two Iron Bands placed on either side at top. It measures 6.5” high x 4” wide x 8.5” long, having some fine natural age splits in the bottom attesting to its originality. The leather strap shows some expected minor cracking, the four iron bands are fully intact yet having signs of wear commensurate with about 250 years age and actual use. Rarely located with the leather strap intact.
