Paul Revere Engraved “Sword In Hand” PMG Certified Extremely Fine-40 Ex: John Ford Jr. & F.C.C. Boyd Estate

August 18, 1775, Paul Revere Engraved Massachusetts Colonial Currency, Seventeen Shillings, popular “Sword In Hand” Issue, THE FINEST CERTIFIED PMG graded Extremely Fine-40.
Fr. MA-169. An outstanding Highest Quality and THE FINEST CERTIFIED by PMG on this popular First Paul Revere Engraved “Sword In Hand” historic issue. This note is clean having four impressive full margins on both its face and back, which provide superior centering. The signatures of Joseph Wheeler and Ebenezer Sayer are clearly readable being written in red and brown ink. Its holder states minor restoration which may be at the reverse side centerfold edge being very minor. There is a pencil notation cost code from prior noted collector F.C.C. Boyd in the lower reverse open field attesting to its impressive provenance. The 2008 5th Edition of Eric P. Newman’s reference “The Early Paper Money of America” values this note at $15,000 in Extremely Fine condition. Any collector of Revolutionary War Massachusetts currency or Paul Revere engravings should not hesitate in aggressively bidding as notes of this quality will no doubt increase significantly in years to come.
